98% of our activities involve canoeing. About half of our canoe trips involve camping. Because we try to avoid built up areas, most of that camping is primative. That means no picnic tables, no flush toilets, often no potable water and sometimes no outhouses.
We do a limited amount of hiking. Ocasionally we will hike in the winter when the rivers are frozen. As a member club of the NY NJ Trail Conference, we also maintain a hiking trail. That involves both day hikes and overnight hikes with the added burden of brush trimmers, erosion control tools and paint to refresh the blazes.
Most of our members are canoeists. Because canoes are better suited to the types of trips we run, opportunities for kayakers are limited. See the Kayaking page for details.
